I sent in fanart for Fruits Basket and it was never published and since our theory that I wasn't published in an American-based company is dead, I'm feeling so anxious! Did they see my work, or is it still in the "TO READ" pile? But I guess I was stupid for requesting to be in volume 14, if they did read it. Man, someone from Surrey got in too, which means things went just the way. Please publish meeeee or I'll want to spam your box with "Please Publish My Work!!" Letters.
Much like my chum, Deviantart, Facebook takes a few minutes to get use to. I got addicted (don't tell anyone) to this "Who's Got The Bigger Brain" application.I don't even know how to use it beyond writing stuff on peoples' walls and yet it takes me a minute to get on, an hour to get off. And some people I don't really know that well, and this guy who I wished had talked to me before has written on my wall. It's pretty interesting, ironic, but interesting. (Said guy is going soon, too.)

Just as well, three memorable moments happened to Larisse today.

A Japanese student came to our house to advertise his group's "Peace Program", but we had to turn him away without letting him deliver his bit. Mom said: "You'll have to come next time, we're making dinner." At this the Japanese boy drew up a little "???" and, at the same time, Kuya Luigi and I replied in Japanese. "Bangohan o tsukurimasu." I said, and now I feel like I just said some random jibberish to the guy. He drew up an even bigger "???" and we said "Sayoonara."

Are indirect kisses so big a deal? I mean, I must have participated in hundreds of them then, so does that mean my "first-kiss" cherry has been popped? (Okay, so that didn't sound right.) But, you know what I mean. I feel somehow robbed, like those odd-thousand beverages and snacks I've shared should have been meaningful, like I should have remembered the persons, the date, the time, and sealed the fateful provision in some sort of labeled packaging. With photos and the whole shindig. But, I guess I have to reserve the diary entry for the real thing. Alas. But today, I had two indirect kisses! I feel like Malcolm that time he found the lipstick of this girl he liked on a dirty cup. Oh, well, at least the drinks were good.

Oh yes, and I'm really confused now. I felt really confused at lunch, and I really wish that would stop and I could get on with the week without thinking or worrying about what happened today. I can't really...get it. This guy is so...yeah. Nothing must happen. NOTHING CAN HAPPEN!! And I guess I'm happy and frustrated about that at the same time.

Now, this is perfect. The weather is golden. It brings me back to when I was eight, and I use to play outside with a couple friends and go to IGA with my grandma. Now I'm the semi-mature teenager. I know the world won't stay this way, so I revel in the sunshine.

And keep purchasing JAXOLA. People kept asking me what it was, and thought that I was selling it. (It's a soft that supports Japan exchange programs.) I think Ho-sensei will unleash Jaxuki (I don't know the spelling, but they're cookies) and Jaxola clothes. My class ordered a bunch of T-shirts and hoodies. I want sweatpants, but they're $30. Some of my Sempai asked if "PWNAGE" could be printed on the butt of the pants. (I'm not in it for that, though.)

I wanted to get into track. I feel like I don't stand a chance against everyone else. But...next year? I don't know. Blah.

But I guess you're all on fb now, huh? ;P

OH AND ZERO KIRYUU'S VOICE IS THE HOTTEST FREAKIN-ESS VOICE OF THAT WHOLE FREAKING SHOW!

MAMORU MIYANOOOOOOOOO!!

That night Annakey went to the House of Women. The men endured the House of Women out of long tradition and feared it a little. Men are the bosses. Even I, as Dollmage, have no say as to what crop will go where, or when to build a new plough or who will attend to the hunt and who to the fences. They do not ask me. But we have, in the House of Women, done a thing or two. Once, it came out in the House that Dug Shallowslough was hitting his wife. Each woman went home and did not please her man until he told Dug to hit no one less hairy than himself. Dug was the hairiest man in the village. He became a very peaceful man.

Reading The Dollmage (by Martine Leavitt) was so good. It was worth the re-read. MANAKEY FOR EVER!

I will tell you another story for a moment to relieve the pain of this one.
Aula Leeside, you remember was famous for her stew. It had a fragrant flavor that no one else could duplicate. One day her neighbor, Etta Peekhole, spied on her stew making. She watched as Aula gathered the little mushrooms that grew in the clover, plucking their little white caps. She watched as she placed them in her stew, and when it had cooked for a long time, Aula plucked the little boiled bodies out. Their flavor had been left in the juices. So that was her secret! Etta Peekhole plucked a few mushrooms of her own, polka-dotted ones, and put them in her stew. She died screaming. The end.
    There.
    That's better.

(=_= ) ) )

Friday, so soon after ending the break, I'm still glad to be back on the late night sleepers' roster. (Today is Saturday, anyway.)

Right. So liking D.Gray-man pretty nicely. I can't remember the proper romanization of the names of all the characters, but that won't stop me from overdoing this rant to death. (=_= )

Lavi (bandana-eye-patch) and Kanda (straight black hair) roasting Komui for being nervous about Lenalee (his sister). The story behind them is Lenalee was taken into this organization and basically held prisoner there until her big brother, Komui came and straightened the place up. Ah, Komui, my favourite work-a-holic(?). Lavi is a bookman (history-keeper) so he gets information and remembers EVERYTHING. (EVERYTHING.) Kanda is the anti-social swordsman of this series, but he's been in the organization for a while (and has known Lenalee for quite a while too ;D) and he's a pretty listener, too. Komui does, indeed, have a sister complex.

Third one is Sailor Moon esque, still love it though. Allen (main character, guy with the cape) is the only guy with his weapon available. Even though he should be unconscious right now. He's such a sweety! (OMGULAY, I'm not only VAAAAN and HITOOOMIII's age, but I'm the same age as ALLLEEEN WAAAALKEEER~.)

Last one is an Allen and Lenalee moment. The two had last seen each other after Lenalee escaped from a monster ambush (which Allen was left behind in). Once it ended, Allen got into a fight, with an opponent that was some crazy semi-boss who broke his weapon (Allen's right arm) and shot a hole straight through Allen's heart. (Cause ya' see, Allen usually gets hurt because he's such a nice guy and got injured helping someone before the fight.) Afterwards, Allen's unconscious body was found, and Lenalee and Lavi were told that they would probably never encounter Allen again (since his weapon was busted forever!).

--BUT NO! Allen came back with this full-body armor/weapon after his right arm regenerated! And right when Lavi, Lenalee, and a whole lotta' their comrades were about to get srsly pwned (yes, I know .__.) by the Earl of Millenium (bad guy). So, Allen saves the day and all the comrades get to witness this lovey dovey moment between Allen and Lenalee. Honestly, though, I kind of like the idea of Lenalee and Kanda, but all three of the main guys have probably had something for her anyways.

...

I surprised myself when I realized how much I liked this manga. It kind of annoyed me at first, because of the absolute confusion I received from a D.Gray Man synopsis, since the story is pretty...complex. Also, I think the rantings of many fans was jibberish to me. I do like it now, and now I am one of those fans and I speak jibberish fluently!

Yes, that's right: JAXOLA. It's straightforward or too embellished, but the real reason now is that I can't write it romantically. I can't write what I'm feeling, so that when I read it over again, I'm not struck down by freaking words, but emotion. Emotion!

I can't believe how good that ending was. I'm so sad! What happened? Did they just promise to meet again one day? The moment I it was coming to an end, I wondered: "Was it really coming to an end? How could it be?" It's so excruciatingly difficult. Like my eyes were going to spurt waterfalls anytime soon.

But the magic's falling, pulling away again. Like a drug that's leading me back into withdrawal. I'm so sad.

This moment, I feel that I wanted more of Escaflowne, but I didn't want anymore; that ending was the best, because it really left you with enough.

Agah. Was it enough? When I try to dramatize my writing so I don't sound like I'm scribbling down a BS report the night before it's due, I sound like a freaking Asian drama put to the page. Hideous. Terrible. If my vocabulary isn't fading now (what's a word that means "prolonging to savour"?) it must be in that ugly cucoon state. But, come out soon, please! So at the least I don't end up using the word "good" more than--well...

Man, I haven't felt this good about an anime since I finished the first DVD of Fruits Basket. When did I start liking anime? It wasn't Sailor Moon, it was that Japanese VHS with yellow, bold print subtitles that my brother and I--just us two, just Kuya and me--would sit cozily on Mom and Dad's old bed and watch, that changed me. The one that my brother read the subtitles for because I couldn't read that quickly. It was the one I started, bewildered, as a first grader, and only eight years deeper into my life in an even more abysmal anime-obsession, did I see how really meaningful it is.

Eight freaking years. EIGHT FREAKING YEARS.

Holy freaking cow, Ate Rishi. Thanks for letting us borrow that DVD collection. I'm totally pumped into finding another good anime.

I think I'm going to buy this. I'm going to look for a ton of these anime and I'm going to buy them. Or enjoy them. I want to. Just like Fruits Basket.

But...everything ends so quickly, so.

Just for now, I want to say: That Escaflowne was really, awesomely...good.

Candy here... aha...drawings of a 12-year-old anime.

It's totally awesome. (Sakaki's left-hand rule!!) So it's about a yakuza who must complete highschool before he can become the next generation boss. This guy is 27 and he's a bit...dim. It's totally awesome, but so short! I'd rank this one above Gokusen, even though the two are similar. I guess only Martin will really know why... Anyhow! MKR, the first (?) popular CLAMP manga is the home of Mokona as well as characters Hikaru, Umi, Fuu, Ferio, and Ascot. omfreakingoodnessascotandferiosocooooool~!! Seriously, there's a guy there that looks like a buffed up Touya (Lantis). There's a ton of crossover props from MKR showing up in TRC. I finished all 6 volumes, and was very much satisfied with it. The first season (first 3 volumes) were a bit disappointing, but I understand that the 6 had to be read. Guru Clef is pretty cool too. Prince Ferio's hair is green!!

In 3 volumes Ascot grew 3 feet (or something). Gah! Ferio x Fuu. Ascot x Umi.
Let me be the master, you can be my apprentice, but there's not shogun, yet.

Oh, W Juliet. The older brother was forced to get into a relationship and to get married before his younger sister does. He already had a girl, though since she's a "Blond American", the Dad wouldn't allow it. Therefore, in the most well-used, most "sensible" kind of decision making, Ryuya put his relationship with American girl, Chris on a--

--MARTIAL ARTS FIGHT BETWEEN THE SIDE THAT OPPOSES THEM!! (AKA THE DAD.)

So, Ryuya and the Dad like to settle things with their fists. They listen well while fighting? Why is it that, in manga, people will agree to something if it's over a competition of skill. I might be heavily pwned in that sort of thing. Dang.

I want to take aikidoo. Or kyuudoo.

Recently watched "The Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa. It really is a good film. I believe it's lived up to its hype. Surpassed it, even. I really enjoyed it. It made me "emote". Now I want to watch Rashomon. (T_T) I hope I can find some video store with a truckload of Kurosawa films.

Also, watched "The Last Samurai" with Ate. I might be getting a fettish for Samurai films. KATSUMOTO!!

But, going back to W Juliet. I'm slightly pissed that Chris ended up with Ryuya. I suppose it's the kind of stupidity that "makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time" (Ate Rishi~.) Ryuya's really cool, and I guess the shonen manga's got me, since they always pair main boy with abnormally unrealistic girl. Chris is kind of like that. She's a foreigner studying Japanese, and she didn't really know the language or the culture (at this point I was angry) and she ended up with such an awesome dude. It's not my kind of thing.

JAPAN!! I want to get to you. You'd be in my dreams, if only I knew how to envision you properly! Kimono, pocky, dango, MatsuJun, manga, etc. etc.

Makoto (main character's boyfriend) is one-fourth German, and because of atavism, he has blonde hair!!

Their children will be pretty, I think.
I miss Kigeki, but i really like this one too. It's a story about the world going against this one girl. I watched it in the summer. It's supposedly going to be an "investment" of the Studio, in that they might turn this into a movie as a opposed to leaving it as a short. I believe that would earn them more popularity because the fans wouldn't be wanting more. (nodoesnotthinkaboutkigekicough) ^_^

I just ordered from Daimasu and learned many things:

Daimasu does not deliver until 5 PM 9 (sonuva--!!)

Always organize ahead, call ahead, check with teachers, then call a second time.

Have your whole plot set out before you try ordering or inking

Daimasu doesn't update its menu on its website! (Good thing our members included their phone numbers, huh?)

It's a good experience and it's kind of tiring, but if we can do this, I'll be happy! >_<

AAAAAAAGH. *CRYING* TT__________TT

IT'S ALMOST OVER.

Syaorans have gone crazy. O_O And I'm enjoying it a lot. Real!Syaoran was protecting Sakura while he went to settle it with C!Syaoran. Aww...so sweet. It's only because it's a shonen manga magazine that he was beaten by Sakura as perfect friend/lover. SYAORAN! He's so sweet I just want to keep him safe. >_< (Urgh. Bad blurring.)

LOOK AT THAT LOOK IN SYAORAN (RIGHT ONE)'S EYES!! Who will Sakura end up with?!? I'm seeing this to the end, dangit, THE END. So, perhaps 3 more volumes. O_o Don't joke, CLAMP. PLEASE! Make it a good ending.

And this place full of gifs from CLAMP in Wonderland 2.

Gotta go e-mail the Jap. Someone, for posting an anime-style Simpsons picture, was hired by a company created by Matt Groening. She also was asked to work on some actual Simpsons comics!
Miura brothers are so sweet. Yuuto and Ryuya (the twins) are my favourites, because they really kick arse for their little sis. It's ironic because Ito only has brothers and Mako only has sisters, and when they get married, they'll have a plethora of siblings--of both sexes! But...is it weird to marry your sister/brother-in-law? (As in the case of Mako x Ito and Yuuto x Akane.) So cute! Ito is totally pretty when she wants to be. But Mako is always...Mr.Perfect. "Good at everything" perfect. Agh, Mako, it's too hard to stand beside you! MIURA SIBLINGS IS THE SWEET. ;__; So cuuute. Obsessed with cute things. I heard you were sick this week. (You didn't show up.) Daijoubu desu ka? O-daijini. Takusan nete yo~! (Sleep lots!) (AND PLEASE COMMENT ON MY JOURNAL BECAUSE I MISSES THE COMMENTS OF ZE PPLZ...Um...what does "orz" mean? Should I know this?)

Yo. What is it with cross-dressing characters and shoujo manga?

Ate's rereading Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) and I'm starting to remember the drama. I hate it when Tsukushi and Tsukasa fight because you just pull a "quincher" and think "Ah! Too much drama! Make up already and stay that way!!". However, when they do work together and have that brief half a chapter of romance, it's fun. Ate says she liked the scene when Tsukasa strung the four guys (that tried to give Tsukushi a "drive" around the campus) up by their ankles from the school roof. Honestly, Tsukasa can be a...well, kind of sweet in that sense. I'd appreciate it! ;D Oh, keep reading for the c-d manga.

Poorly-drawn manga with a good story is...an oxymoron. Or should be. I have trouble reading it sometimes because the art looks too lazy or just...I take a long time to read manga because I look at the pictures a lot. I found out (thanks, Mr. Bone) that one of the nuances of an artist is that they like to get up close to art and see how it was done. (Symptoms may vary.) So, when I try to find out what the artist did, I find a ton of strange, little mistakes and a showcase of lack of talent. That is, the comparison is between good manga artists and bad manga artists, not me and the latter. Urgh! If you want to draw a manga, that's great, but at least draw well because comics need good art!! adfalsdjfiasjfj.k

I'm reading The Greenies. It's a little hard to read sometimes (a little boring for me), but there nifty bits of info about the setting and I get to learn new words!

I'm also reading W Juliet. It's gooooood. Maybe I'm liking the Hana Kimi-thing about it. I like the little craziness about it, but I don't like it when the show implies too much *coughourancough*. *cough* was OK except for the parts with the twins (Fred and George-esque! O_O). W Juliet is cool. I am reading the chapter where the boy dressed as a girl (Makoto) has to dress as a boy for the play Sleeping Beauty. (This is like Cardcaptor Sakura, no?) Also, the girl that looks like a boy (Ito) has to dress up as a girl. It's so cool because Ito looks so pretty and Makoto breaks out the katana of awesome! *fangirl* It's so cool. Ito is cool. T_T

I read Socrates in Love (Sekachu) the graphic novel. It's sad. I want to read the novel now! It was like a Japanese A Walk to Remember (pretty much). I kind of wish that I had spoken up and told the guy he was ordering the manga for me instead of the novel. He said: "Yes, this is the novel." and I was like "Oh...kay." The paperback comes out in January. The hardcover is 25 bucks or something! O_O

The value of American money. Urgh. Now stores don't even accept it cuz the values so low! My mom tried to buy a coffee press at Starbucks with some American money we had and it wasn't accepted. Please, let their still be some stores that accept it as 1 to 1 here in Canada!! I want to buy something before it goes down too much. ;__;

Ate is at YFC camp. I wonder if they ate my carrot cake yet? I think they're doing the 4th talk now or something. Oh, the weather's not that good. I hope they'll be OK. I miss my camp (just a little) and, now that I think about it, I really changed after I went to it. Next camp for me, then. I miss Ate. I find that I'm doing well without her, though, and that I didn't feel the room was incredibly empty last night. (Egad. Last night.) I took C.C. though (C.C. is my sister's...present from Ate Celine). I wonder how they're doing what they're doing if they're doing what they were doing when I had my camp. That was 2 years ago. O_O Wow.

Farah, who moved to Kuwait last year came back for a couple of days! :D I missed her a lot and I'm so glad I got to see her! XD Farah, take care coming back and we'll e-mail!

I love inari sushi.

I'm not as young as I think I am and Ate's not as old as I think she is. I hope that that's a truth for other people.

"As I drew him, I thought, 'There aren't any guys like this.'
